Helena is the state capital of Montana. It has a population of over 30,000 people. In Helena, there is an organization called The Helena Mineral Society which is a non-profit organization that caters to the public awareness of gems, minerals and precious stones. They also advocate continued camaraderie among its members and further education and investigation of precious stones found in the capital of Helena.

The Helena Mineral Society currently holds an exhibit festival at Helena which also features a mineral trade show and silent auctions for everyone to see. The Festival will feature suppliers, importers and manufacturers of gems and precious stones from other places. Aficionados and sellers are all gathered under one roof in this one of a kind exhibit. The festival is the perfect time to get to know different minerals, their compositions and beauty.

Since it is almost springtime, rock enthusiasts and geologists are all very eager to take out their digging paraphernalia and resume their favorite hobby. It is important that these items be prepared beforehand to ensure smoothness and success of its next usage. Chisels should be sharpened and brushes should be checked if it is still complete. Sunscreen, hat and a carrying bag should be prepared in order to be ready for its next use.

The Society is known to feature field trips and hands-on classes to provide learning to the participants who take part of their programs. Kids usually make up of their large attendees perhaps due to their interest in learning first-hand and on the spot. Some beginners on field trips consist of enthusiastic kids who only get to learn about precious stones and minerals from school lessons.

The Helena Mineral Society Festival is truly an event not to miss as there are lots of information to be learned and lots of minerals to be seen!
