Want To Know The Best Place To Buy A Digital Camera?

Everyone knows, that technology shrinks everything, and digital camera technology is no exception. The small, the better . . . right? Wrong! Smaller is not necessarily better, it's just smaller.
Consumers have a preoccupation with small though. Ever since Captain Kirk said "beam me up Scott" and Dick Tracey started sporting his little video phone wrist watch, people have been fascinated with technology gone small. Digital photography continues to follow the trend, and I can't help but tag along.
The internet is bursting at the seams with information on digital cameras and just about any other product your imagination can dream up. And some you can't
The biggest problem with shopping online, is condensing and sorting all the relevant information while at the same time filtering out all the superfluous noise surrounding it.
At the pace technology advances, your chances of getting a good camera are pretty good (no matter how old it is). The basics of what makes a good camera good, haven't really changed that much over the years. Good lenses, and good image quality with minimal noise and distortion in your pictures are the most important attributes.
But, the internet can't give you everything you need in your search for the perfect digital camera. Specifically and most importantly, you can't pick up and hold a digital camera without actually going to a real world store.
Holding a camera in your hands, and getting a good feel for the weight, the look, and the controls can only be done in person. Take a few pictures (inside and outside) while your at it, just for good measure.
Make sure you get a decent resolution LCD with any camera in this category. 230,000 pixels would be the minimum resolution I'd settle for here. You may want to check it outside in bright sunlight before you buy one as well. Some LCDs have a nasty habit of fading away till they're practically useless outdoor.
I prefer to stay one or two steps away from the bleeding edge. that way you get a proven and tested product, often at a considerable prices saving over the latest golly-gee whiz-bang features of the new models.
The internet and the real world both have advantages and disadvantages when it comes to buying your next digital camera. The best digital camera store, is really the one your create, by merging the best characteristics of both the bricks and the clicks universe.
Or, if it's the artist in you that drives your camera purchase, then then same rule applies. It's the final pictures and images that really matter. There's more than one way (or camera) that can deliver on that promise.
