Named Camera of the Year 2007 by Popular Photography, Nikon D300 digital SLR camera is one revolutionary camera. Its a 12.3 megapixel DX format camera with advanced features and great processing power. Nikon designated it as the ultimate in professional DX format performance. It offers high resolution and high speed shutter response.
With its rechargeable EN-EL3e Lithium-ion battery, it can shoot up to 6 frames per second for up to 100 JPEG images. But if you use it with the optional MB-D10 battery pack, it can shoot up to 8 frames per second. The MB-D10 battery grip provides a vertical grip and additional shutter release. Other battery options include eight AA batteries, EN-EL4 or EN-EL4a.
Featuring a 3-inch 920,000-dot or 307,200 pixels VGA LCD color monitor, this camera offers 170 degree wide angle viewing. It also comes with a tempered glass protection. For easy focus, use the button for zoom in/out.
The Active D-lighting technology enables the camera to control light intensity and exposure, thus eliminating the need for meticulous editing. Meaning, images are already being edited before you even shoot it. However, you can always use the Picture Control settings. There are 4 preset options including standard, neutral, vivid and monochrome.
Nikon D300 digital SLR camera features image sensitivity ranging from 200 to 3200. It has high signal-to-noise ratio for exceptionally clean image files. It has expanded range of options including the Lo-1 and Hi-1options. Lo-1 is equivalent to ISO 100, while Hi-1 is equivalent to ISO 6400.
Nikon D300 Digital SLR Camera features a Multi-CAM 3500DX autofocus module and 51 sensors in normal mode. It also allows 3D tracking and automatic focus point switching. This AF module uses color and light information to accurately track the subject.
You can also choose the bit-depths for your file by selecting from the 12-bit or 14-bit A/D conversion. This allows you to have good quality images at different sizes. You can either have smaller files at faster operating speed or larger files at slower operating speed.
When shooting in a studio or in a remote situation, you can use the two Live View shooting modes. These shooting modes are the handheld mode and the tripod mode. And to prevent dusts from accumulating, there is the dust reduction system or the self-cleaning ultrasonic sensor unit.
